An interview with The Nth Power guitarist Nick Cassarino is featured on Episode 118 of The JamBase Podcast, a partner of the Osiris Media Network. Cassarino spoke with JamBase’s Scott Bernstein about the band’s current Reach Out Tour 2022, recently released Reverence studio album and more.
Nick caught up with Bernstein via video chat from his hometown of New York City. The pair began the conversation by discussing Cassarino’s stint performing and recording with hip-hop icon Big Daddy Kane.
Talk then turned to how The Nth Power was formed and the trio’s amazing tribute sets, including an Earth Wind & Power tribute to Earth Wind & Fire coming to New Orleans during Jazz Fest. Cassarino then detailed the evolution of The Nth Power and how the band members selected recordings of past concerts to share on the nugs.net platform.
The Nth Power recently returned to the road to start their Reach Out Tour and Cassarino told Scotty about getting back on stage after a long hiatus due to the pandemic. Nick then spoke about Reverence, an album dedicated to the late Kofi Burbridge The Nth Power released last fall. The guitarist shared memories of Kofi and discussed what he learned from the multi-instrumentalist.
Cassarino went on reflect on the night John Mayer dropped by one of his gigs in 2019 to jam. Other topics hit upon were a batch of solo songs Nick will premiere soon, a new album with longtime collaborator Jennifer Hartswick that is in the works, who he’d most like to perform with and more.
