Episode 96 of The JamBase Podcast, a partner of the Osiris Media Network, features an interview with TAUK. JamBase’s Scott Bernstein spoke with all four members of the band about their new album, Chaos Companion, which arrives on September 24.

Bernstein chatted with TAUK over a video call. The band consisting of keyboardist Alric “A.C.” Carter, bassist Charlie Dolan, drummer Isaac Teel and guitarist Matt Jalbert was gathered at their studio on Long Island. Dolan described the newly built facility where they recorded Chaos Companion.

TAUK explained the genesis of their new album and how many of the tracks date back a long time. COVID gave the band plenty of time to work on new music and they revealed another new album is in the works.

Scotty also chatted with TAUK about the guests that contributed to Chaos Companion including Lettuce’s Shady Horns. The nine-track LP features throwback sounds and the discussion turned to the evolution of the quartet’s sound. Additionally, the group has released a series of videos for Chaos Companion singles and they recalled the shoot at Brooklyn Bowl for the especially playful “Make Your Move” visual.

Other topics hit upon were the role longtime collaborator Robert Carranza played in the making of the new album, how TAUK names their instrumental tracks, performing Chaos Companion songs live, their recent return to the stage and precautions they will take on their upcoming fall tour as COVID continues to rage.
