Former My Chemical Romance Drummer Bob Bryar Found Dead At 44
Former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar has died at the age of 44. The musician was found dead inside his Tennessee home this past Tuesday, three weeks after he was last seen alive.
According to TMZ, Bryar’s cause of death remains unknown, but police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
“The band asks for your patience and understanding as they process the news of Bob’s passing”
TMZ additionally reported that Bryar’s body was found in a state of decomposition, with Animal Control called to his home to take away two dogs.
A medical examiner will now perform an autopsy to determine Bryar’s cause of death, but reportedly no foul play is suspected, as all of Bryar’s valuables, guns and music equipment were found untouched inside his home.
“The band asks for your patience and understanding as they process the news of Bob’s passing,” a spokesperson for My Chemical Romance said in a statement shared with Variety.
Bryar is regarded as My Chemical Romance’s longest serving drummer. He joined the band following the release of their Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge LP in 2004, replacing drummer Matt Pelissier.
He was involved in their most iconic album, 2006’s The Black Parade and spent six years behind the kit for the band including their appearance at the 2007 Big Day Out, before they ultimately parted ways 2010.
One of his last social media posts shared on November 5, around the last time he was seen alive, saw him honour Linkin Park and their late frontman Chester Bennington.
“emily armstrong is destroying, shredding faces and making chester proud,” Bryar posted on X (above), backing Linkin Park’s new era with their new singer, Emily Armstrong.
“she was the perfect choice. AND she had to deal with the initial hate. that s–t is hard. trust me. word up.”
