Goose’s Rick Mitarotonda Joins Mt. Joy’s Headlining Set at Out of the Blue Festival in Cancún

In a lively night of music beneath the Mexican stars, Rick Mitarotonda, lead guitarist and vocalist of Goose, graced the stage in Cancún, Mexico, on Sunday night. The occasion was Mt. Joy’s headlining set at the Out of the Blue Festival, held at the beloved Moon Palace–an all-inclusive resort known for hosting several musical getaways from Phish’s Riviera Maya event to the upcoming inaugural Dead Ahead, which will break ground this weekend, from Jan. 12 to 15 and also feature Mitarotonda among others.

As the Moon Palace embraced the evening, Mt. Joy treated the audience to a spirited showcase of their melodically-driven indie rock tunes. The headlining act extended a warm invitation to several artists, turning the stage into a collaborative canvas.

Among the featured artists were singer-songwriter Joy Oladokun and breakout sensation Noah Kahan, who is set to headline Out of the Blue on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Mitarotonda’s presence injected a vibrant jam band energy into the night, and his improvisational grooves seamlessly complemented Mt. Joy’s soulful and bluesy 2020 track, “Let Loose.”
