Do I need a DJ turntable?

A DJ turntable is specially designed for mixing and scratching music, typically used by DJs. It has a direct-drive platter that spins at a constant speed and has pitch control to adjust the speed. The tonearm has a heavy counterweight and anti-skate mechanism to keep the vinyl record in place. Some DJ turntables also come with a built-in phono preamp for connecting to a PA system.

If you are a DJ who needs to mix and scratch music, then you need a DJ turntable. However, if you are a casual listener or a vinyl record collector, a standard turntable would suffice.
