Electronic drums can simulate the feel and sound of acoustic drums, but they do not replicate the tactile sensation exactly. The response of an electronic drumhead to a strike can be adjusted to mimic the feeling of a acoustic drumhead or cymbal, but it will always be different due to the physical characteristics of the materials involved. High-end electronic drum kits often use mesh drum heads and rubber cymbals to provide a more authentic feel, but the experience will never be completely identical to that of acoustic drums.
