The most common drum kit consists of five main components: the snare drum, the bass drum, one or more tom-toms, a cymbal, and a drum stool. Usually, there are two or three tom-toms. These five-piece kits are often called “jazz” kits, although they are also suitable for most other musical styles. More extensive setups may include multiple floor toms, multiple cymbals, and a variety of other percussion instruments.
