First, you should learn the basic drumming strokes: right hand, left hand, and double strokes. After that, you should practice the five most common drum rudiments: the Single Stroke Roll, the Double Stroke Roll, the Triple Stroke Roll, the Multiple Bounce Roll, and the Single Flam. These rudiments will help you to improve your coordination and control over the drumsticks.

Along with these, it’s important to understand the basics of rhythm and time signature. You should be able to count and keep a steady beat.

Finally, you should start learning simple drum beats and fills. This will help you to apply the rudiments and strokes you’ve learned in a musical context.
