What is Capo in guitar?

A “capo” is a clamp-like device that musicians use on their guitars to raise the pitch of the instrument. It is typically clamped onto the fingerboard at a certain fret. By doing so, the capo shortens the length of the strings, raising the pitch. This allows the guitarist to play chords in a key that would otherwise be too low if they were simply finger-fretting the chords without the capo. It is particularly useful for transposing a song into a key that is more suited to the singer’s range.
