While there is a common belief that listening to classical music can increase intelligence or IQ, known as the “Mozart Effect,” current research does not consistently support this claim. Some studies have shown short-term improvements in certain aspects of cognitive functioning after listening to classical music, but there is no strong evidence to prove long-lasting effects or an overall increase in IQ. It is important to note that engaging in a wide range of activities, including active music-making, can have positive impacts on cognitive and emotional development.
