Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is buried in a common grave at St. Marx Cemetery in Vienna, Austria. He was buried there on December 6, 1791, just two days after his death. The exact location of his grave is not known, as the cemetery was a pauper’s graveyard, and the graves were dug up after ten years to make room for new burials.

There is a monument to Mozart near the entrance of the cemetery, which was erected in 1859, a century after his death. The monument was moved to its current location in 1891, when the cemetery was re-landscaped.
