Are singers born or made?

The development of a singer is generally regarded as a blend of both natural talent and nurture.

From the nature perspective, some people are indeed born with certain physical traits that can lend themselves to good singing, such as a well-shaped vocal tract, a healthy set of lungs, and a strong diaphragm. These physical attributes can provide a solid foundation for voice production.

However, the made part is equally important. Learning to control and refine the voice to produce the desired tones, pitches, and dynamics is a skill that requires instruction, practice, and patience. Even those with natural talent often need to learn proper technique and vocal control to reach their full potential.

So, it’s fair to say that singers are both born and made. The right physical attributes can provide a good starting point, but it takes dedicated practice and learning to truly become a skilled singer.
