HarbourView acquires a collection of Kane Brown’s publishing catalog, beefing up its total holdings to over 24,000 songs.

HarbourView Equity has purchased a collection of publishing assets from country star Kane Brown, bringing the company’s total holdings to over 24,000 songs across master recordings and publishing income streams.

Following his 2014 viral hit “Don’t Go City On Me,” Kane Brown has released multiple country chart-topping hits, like “Homesick,” “What Ifs,” “Like I Love Country Music,” “Lose It,” and “Used to Love You Sober.” Brown has collaborated with artists including Becky G, Khalid, H.E.R., John Legend, Nelly, and Marshmello.

“Partnering with someone like Kane who adds such a beautiful texture to the country genre is consistent with who we are as a firm. Kane is a special talent, and we are excited to be on the journey,” says HarbourView Equity CEO and founder Sherrese Clarke Soares.

“I’m grateful to Sherrese and HarbourView for their belief in my songwriting catalog,” adds Brown. “These songs that I’ve written are very meaningful to my fans and my career.”

Kane Brown’s top 40 hits have included tracks like “Be Like That” and “One Thing Right,” both having remained on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 22 and 23 respective weeks. Some of his hits have received multi-platinum RIAA certification, such as the eight-time certified “What Ifs.”

HarbourView’s catalog of music acquisitions includes recordings and publishing assets from artists like Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie, and country music assets from Brad Paisley, Florida Georgia Line, and many more. The acquisition of “certain publishing assets” from Kane Brown brings its diversified catalog to over 24,000 songs across master recordings and publishing income streams.

During its transaction with Brown, HarbourView was provided legal counsel by Fox Rothschild LLP, while Jess L. Rosen at Greenberg Traurig LLP represented Brown. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
