HBO Shares Trailer for Controversial Alanis Morissette ‘Jagged’ Documentary

HBO will release Jagged – a new documentary chronicling the ’90s-era, meteoric rise of Alanis Morissette – on Nov. 18.

And while the film was created with Morissette’s input, there has been an increasing controversy around its focus, particularly in regard to the singer’s experience with sexual harassment and assault.

After an early screening of the film, Morissette panned its tone and message, telling The Washington Post, “This is not the story I agreed to tell. I was lulled into a false sense of security, and their salacious agenda became apparent immediately upon my seeing the first cut of the film. This is when I knew our visions were in fact painfully diverged.”

In turn, Morissette has revoked her endorsement of the project.
