Hevenshe, the euphoric solo project from Tonight Alive icon Jenna McDougall, has returned with the second musical offering of her new era.

Written in collaboration with Slowly Slowly‘s Ben Stewart, her latest single ‘Wish I Had A Friend’ is an achingly nostalgic slice of indie rock, layered with celestial synths, grunge-inflected guitars and heartfelt vocals that burn in intensity to an emotional climax.

In line with her mission to inspire, uplift, and provide a cathartic soundtrack to her listener’s lives, Hevenshe’s latest single is a powerful commentary on “the illusion of loneliness”.

“It’s inspired by the distorted reality we experience when we’re depressed and a modern society that encourages such isolation,” Hevenshe explains. “’Wish I Had a Friend’ is a reminder that our yearning for connection is in fact a wise and necessary survival instinct to ensure we don’t try to brave this life alone. It’s my hope that the song will lend strength to those struggling to reach out for support.”

Fans can stream the track up above, or hear it live when Hevenshe hits the road supporting You Me At Six on their final ever Australian tour later this week.
