King Gizzard and The Wizard Lizard Announce Dates For 2022 World Tour

King Gizzard and The Wizard Lizard have announced their 2022 world tour following a pandemic-induced hiatus. The Australian rock group will join forces for a five-night run at the Princess Theatre in Brisbane, Australia, beginning Dec. 19 before hitting the road in March for a full-fledged world tour.

The Melbourne-natives will hit South America for three festivals, including two iterations of Lollapalooza taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina on March 19 and São Paulo, Brazil on March 26. The band will then head to Bogota, Columbia for Festival Estereo Picnic 2022 on March 27. 

Following the South American leg of their tour, King Gizzard and The Wizard Lizard will head to the U.S. for eleven stops. Oakland, Calif.-based experimental pop group SPELLLING will join the band for their California shows beginning April 24. The band will then head to Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Festival on April 30, before flying east for a brief northeastern romp. 

After canceling a slew of shows scheduled for 2020 and 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the band will return to the U.S. this fall for an extended set of rescheduled appearances. This time they’ll play with special guests, Melbourne folk-singer Leah Senior and fellow Australian rock group The Murlocs. 

Among the shows scheduled for fall are two-sold-out nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., Oct. 10 and 11. King Gizzard and The Wizard Lizard will also play Forest Hills Stadium in New York City on Oct. 21, 2022. Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 19 at 12 PM EST.
