German electronic music legends Kraftwerk will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their first U.S. tour and their iconic album Autobahn on a 2025 outing dubbed MULTIMEDIA CONCERTS. The trek gets underway March 6 in Philadelphia and wraps April 24 in Dallas, shortly after previously announced appearances at both weekends of the Coachella festival in Indio, Ca.

Kraftwerk, which now features 78-year-old lone original member Ralf Hütter, announced the tour in a humorous video starring skateboard hero and longtime fan Tony Hawk. The group played nine shows earlier this year at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, which included complete performances of Autobahn and seven of their other albums.

SPIN ranked Autobahn No. 4 in a 2003 list of the 15 most influential albums of all time, noting that it had a clear impact on Devo, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Detroit techno, Daft Punk and Radiohead: “Nattily dressed, classically trained Germans, Kraftwerk couldn’t actually become robots, but their sleek, synthetic ‘robot pop’ changed everything. Before Kraftwerk, rock prized the idea of soul above all else; Autobahn was proudly inorganic music that nonetheless dealt with deeply human issues, reflecting technology’s capacity to simultaneously liberate and alienate. Every time a contemporary musician makes his laptop cry synthetic tears, you can hear the echo of this album’s bleeps.”

Tickets for MULTIMEDIA CONCERTS go on sale Dec. 13.
