Leftover Salmon and Kitchen Dwellers Detail Memorial Day Pick-Nic at Red Rocks

Leftover Salmon and Kitchen Dwellers will team up and host the “Memorial Day Pick-Nic” this spring. The event will feature two set performances by both bands on Colorado’s historic Red Rocks stage on Thursday, May 26, 2025. The forthcoming occasion coincides with the Centennial State native’s 35th anniversary of producing their unique blend of “cajun slam grass.” 

Word of the newly announced joint show arrives after Kitchen Dwellers’ three-night Denver run, [two nights at] Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom, and the band’s debut at the lauded Mission Ballroom. Concurrently, Leftover Salmon amassed the same status after their sold-out Boulder Theatre run over Thanksgiving. Given the regional draw, both groups will return for a fully-fledged Colorado get-down ahead of Memorial Day weekend. 

“I can’t think of a better place to spend the day and night watching the weather swirl around than Red Rocks! Let’s all have a musical ‘pick-nic’ together and celebrate 35 years of Salmon in the high country with Kitchen Dwellers and Clay Street Unit,” Leftover Salmon’s Vince Herman boasted via the official press release, which makes mention of the event’s openers, Clay Street Unit.

Kitchen Dwellers’ Torrin Daniels added, “Leftover Salmon are more than a band. They’re a legacy. The grandfathers of the jamgrass genre. And more than just the music, they’re pinnacle examples of the scene, the ideals, the values and the freewheeling lifestyle that all comes with it. And I’m honored to share the stage with them every time I get the opportunity. To get the chance to do so at Red Rocks is nothing short of a privilege and an honor.”
