Lil Baby teases joint project with Future and Young Thug: “We damn near got the joint tape done”

Lil Baby has revealed that he has a joint mixtape on the way with Future and Young Thug.

Last week, saw the release of the collab ‘Dum, Dumb and Dumber’ between the Atlanta rapper and the trap veterans from his new album, ‘WHAM‘. The song featured Thug’s first verse since he was released from prison back in October and quickly became a fan favourite.

In a new episode of Spotify’s A Day in the Life series, Baby revealed that there are a lot more collaborations between the trio on the way. “Me and Future were working on a joint tape. We damn near got the joint tape done,” he shared. “And now Slime [Young Thug] came home, you know he ain’t goin’ for that. He was like ‘Shit.’”

He continued: “It was actually Thug’s idea. When he was in jail, he was like, ‘Aye, call Pluto [Future]. I want y’all to do a tape together.’ He damn near named the tape and everything — this was before he got out.

“Now that he got out, he’s like, ‘I’m on on the tape.’ We might have something big in store on that. I don’t know exactly [what it’ll be] but it’s in the works. We have so many songs. Thug is a lab rat: all he do is stay in the studio. We’ve already made 10 songs together.”

The ‘Yes, Indeed’ rapper also announced fans that his fifth album ‘Dominique’ will “hopefully” arrive in February. “’WHAM’ is more me on some young n***a shit — fast cars, girls, jewellery, money – you know, the turnt lifestyle. And ‘Dominique’ is more the serious me, more personal,” he said, explaining the difference between the two records. “That’s a part of the new journey I’m on. I hate the word vulnerable, but I’m gonna be more open to my fans and my audience.”

Baby shared other projects in the works – including his label imprint 4PF doing a compilation album called ‘Can’t Be Fucked With’, featuring signee Rylo Rodriguez, Lil Quill and Beezy.

‘WHAM’ was released on January 3 and was awarded three stars by NME, who said “there was plenty of potential” for the record “to be a trap masterpiece – but potential alone can’t create a legacy.”

In other news, Future has been sued for copyright infringement over his feature on ‘Telekinesis’ from Travis Scott’s Utopia, a track that also includes SZA. A Roc Nation singer-songwriter claimed the trio used lyrics and other elements from her song without permission.

Meanwhile, fans think Young Thug called Gunna a “rat” in his first snippet of new music music since being released from prison.
