Linkin Park Lands at No. 1 on ARIA Chart With ‘From Zero’

Linkin Park goes straight to the top of the ARIA Chart with From Zero, the nu-metal favourites’ eighth studio album.

From Zero gives Mike Shinoda and Co. its first No. 1 debut on the ARIA Chart, and first with the new lineup, which is now led by Emily Armstrong and was assembled following the passing of former frontman Chester Bennington in 2017.

None of Linkin Park’s studio LPs have gone lower than No. 3 on the ARIA Chart. From Zero is the band’s fourth leader, after 2000 breakthrough Hybrid Theory, Minutes To Midnight from 2007 and A Thousand Suns from 2010.

It’s an all-American top-three as Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet and Tyler, The Creator’s Chromakopia complete the podium, respectively.

Meanwhile, veteran Australian rapper Illy drops in at No. 4 with Good Life, for his fourth top 10 appearance. Good Life is the two-time ARIA Award winner’s seventh album from the two-time ARIA Award winner, a tally that includes No. 1s with Two Degrees (2016) and The Space Between (2021). It’s one of just three Australia-made albums in the top 50.

Also new to the chart is Shawn, the fifth studio from Canadian pop singer Shawn Mendes. It’s new at No. 24. That’s well down on the No. 2 peak for his 2020 set Wonder, and the No. 1 for his self-titled 2018 collection.

Over on the ARIA Singles Chart for the week of November 25th, Gracie Abrams rules for a second successive cycle with “That’s So True,” ahead of Rosé’s platinum-certified former leader “APT.”, with Bruno Mars, and Carpenter’s “Taste,” respectively.

The top debut belongs to Canadian pop artist Tate McRae, with “2 Hands,” new at No. 14. McRae completed the Australasian leg of her Think Later tour last week.

Just two homegrown singles appear in the top 40: The Kid LAROI’s “Nights Like This,” up 25-20, and Vance Joy’s evergreen hit “Riptide,” up 35-25.
