Blackberry Smoke have returned today, Nov. 15, to ring in the holidays with the new single “Come Go with Us.” The band’s latest offering captures the spirit of the season with its unparalleled rootsy charm, pairing insightful lyricism with moving musical performances to finally release a song previewed 12 years ago. This track will tide fans over through the winter as the Southern rock torchbearers prepare for the Rattle, Ramble and Roll Tour, spanning 21 engagements in early 2025.

“Come Go with Us” is a soft, warm country croon, with inviting organ, rambling percussion and slowly ringing guitar strums that conjure the comfort of home. Atop this arrangement, vocalist Charlie Starr echoes words and phrases heard across the table and by the fireside at every holiday gathering, bound together as a grounded encapsulation of a near-universal experience. Altogether, the song is a tender, nostalgic tribute to the holidays that gets at the true, inexpressible wonder of the holidays through the sometimes earnest, sometimes awkward, but always loving turns of phrase exchanges between a reunited family.

“Come Go with Us” debuted in 2012 for Rhapsody Country on Napster (a real throwback), and since its sole presentation, it’s become a favorite among fans that’s endured through the years. Today’s release does the stirring song justice with a finely honed studio treatment. On the song, Starr shares, “‘Come Go With Us’ is a childhood’s worth of conversations that I overheard at family holiday gatherings. The kinda stuff that attaches itself to you and never turns loose. Covered dishes and snuff-dipping kinda talk. I miss it a lot.”

Blackberry Smoke will continue a fall tour tonight with a performance at Marietta, Ohio’s Peoples Bank Theatre, followed by eight further dates across the Midwest and South through Dec. 8. The ensemble will return for a New Year’s Eve Celebration in Macon, Ga. on Dec. 31, then set off the next year of performance with a presence at Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.’s—30A Songwriters Festival from Jan. 16-20.
