Listen: Brittney Spencer Previews Debut LP ‘My Stupid Life,’ with Second Single “Night In”

Singer-songwriter Brittney Spencer has shared a new single entitled “Night In.” The song is the second release from Spencer’s upcoming debut album, My Stupid Life, which will be released on January 19 by Elektra Records. “Night In” follows the LP’s initial preview, “Bigger Than the Song.”

“Night In” begins with stomping drums and guitar reminiscent of a pop-punk anthem. Then, it opens into a rollicking chorus showcasing Spencer’s passionate vocals as she lists the reasons staying in is often preferable to going out, including the fact that there are “No drunk boys mumbling ‘Can I buy you a drink?’”

Following the release of her debut LP, Spencer will go on tour in North America throughout the winter and spring. Her first show of 2024 is on January 12 at the Dead Ahead Festival in Riviera Cancún, Mexico, alongside Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros, featuring the Wolfpack, Mickey Hart’s Noche De Ondas, and others.

Spencer notably performed with Grateful Dead founding member Bobby Weir for the 50th Anniversary of his solo debut, Ace. Spencer accompanied Weir on such songs as “Looks Like Rain,” “Walk In the Sunshine,” and “Samson and Delilah.”
