LISTEN: ‘PAINFALL’, The Dizzyingly Raucous Debut Single From KUBRICK

You’ve never heard anything quite like this.

KUBRICK, the new project from Sam Kubrick who you may recognise from his time in Shields, have released their debut single.

And it’s unlike anything else.

It’s called ‘PAINFALL’ and combines the searing synth-led atmosphere and soul of The Weeknd with crushing metalcore intensity and bludgeoning. It forces two very different worlds together into one all-consuming and chaotic sound, and it feels incredibly exciting indeed.

KUBRICK had this to say about the track:

“I have fallen into pain and loss throughout my life… This song is an account of that experience.”

And this about the future of the project:

“I don’t think I will ever just stick to one “sound” or “genre” as my taste is continually evolving. My songwriting will never be dictated by what people want to hear, or what’s trending at any particular point. The plan is just to be unforgivably myself.”
