Listen: TR3 Featuring Tim Reynolds Release Complete Studio Album ‘Watch It’

TR3, the group fronted by Dave Matthews Band collaborator and two-time Grammy nominee Tim Reynolds and featuring Dan Martier on drums along with Mick Vaughn on bass, delivered their complete studio LP, Watch It. The 10-track assemblage traverses the eccentricities of contemporary life with curiosity and openness. 

Watch It arrives after TR3’s 2019 LP, The Sea Versus the Mountain, and their 2022 live album Wild in the Sky. The new collection was arranged and written during the pandemic-prompted off-season and was recorded at Dave Matthews Band’s studio, the Haunted Hollow in Charlottesville, Va. The collection of primarily instrumental tracks was produced by Dave Matthews Band studio manager and chief engineer Rob Evan, who helped direct the sonic melding of jazz, funk and rock.

The collection of new music centers around Reynolds’ guitar virtuosity, which elicits his masterful command of melody and distinct understanding of timing. Improvised moments show off the namesake’s prowess, as evident in his role as lead guitarist in the Dave Matthews Band and fronting his TR3 project–founded in the mid-1980s. 

The expansion of decades worth of experience becomes evident in the newly dropped music video for the album’s lead single, “So Am I,” shared today. Fiasco Pictures recorded The video at The Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, N.C.. Watch below. 

Partnered with new music is a series of already announced tour dates, which pick up tomorrow, Jan. 19, at The Rex Theatre in Manchester, N.H., before continuing through the Northeast region of the U.S. and, inevitably, a short leg of Midwest appearances. Scroll down for dates.
