Two attendees of Madonna’s Dec. 13, 2023 concert at Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Barclay Center are suing the singer for a delay in the show’s start time. According to the pair, Michael Fellows and Jonathon Hadden, the concert was scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. but instead kicked off two hours later, at 10:30 p.m.

Fellows and Hadden stated they “would not have paid for tickets” if they knew of the potential delays. The case presents the reasoning behind the decision: “many ticket holders who attended the concert on a weeknight had to get up early to go to work and/or take care of their family responsibilities the next day.”

The lawsuit includes the Material Girl and the venue and promoter, Live Nation. While the two men only attended one of the musician’s three concerts in Brooklyn, they also reported that Madonna’s shows on Dec. 14 and 16 started two hours later than initially intended on the concert bill.

The papers mention that the singer “has a long history of arriving and starting her concerts late, sometimes several hours.” They cited examples, such as the musician’s 2016 Rebel Heart Tour, 2019 through 2020’s Madame X Tour and others–this is not the first time a fan has attempted to sue over Madonna’s tardiness. In 2019, a similar case was brought up and later dismissed.
