Martha Stewart spotted at Godspeed You! Black Emperor show after dissing their labelmate Colin Stetson
Martha Stewart reportedly attended a Godspeed You! Black Emperor show over the weekend.
The TV personality was in Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday (November 16), to promote the release of her 100th cookbook. The press tour happened to coincide with Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s – who are touring their new album ‘NO TITLE AS OF 13 FEBRUARY 2024 28,340 DEAD’ – show in the city.
Attendees began posting on Twitter/X that they’d spotted Stewart at the gig, with one writing: “Dude Martha Stewart is at the Godspeed you black emperor show wtf,” before adding that she “stayed the whole time”.
Another wrote: “Martha Stewart hanging out in standing room floor of a small venue in Charleston to see Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Alan Sparhawk was cool.”

Apparently, it’s not the first time she’s been sighted front of stage either, with one Twitter/X user sharing that they’d previously seen her watching Mick Barr from experimental black metal band Krallice.

It follows her recent comments about Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s Constellation Records’ labelmate Colin Stetson, who scored her recent Netflix documentary Martha.
In an interview with The New York Times, Stewart referred to his work on the film as: “some lousy classical score”, having wanted her friend Snoop Dogg to do the job instead.
“I said to RJ [Culter, Martha‘s director], ‘An essential part of the film is that you play rap music.’ Dr. Dre will probably score it, or Snoop or Fredwreck. I said, ‘I want that music.’ And then he gets some lousy classical score in there, which has nothing to do with me,” she told the publication.
Snoop and Stewart’s friendship has been well-documented through the years. In 2016 they launched TV show Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party, before appearing together in a T-Mobile Super Bowl advert in 2017, and a Sketchers ad in 2023.
Stewart also wrote a foreword in Snoop’s 2018 book From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg’s Kitchen, and the rapper appeared as the first guest on Stewart’s podcast when it launched in 2022.
Speaking previously to Rolling Stone about their relationship, Snoop said: “I’ve never met anyone like Martha Stewart. When we come together, it’s a natural combination of love, peace and harmony.”
Earlier this summer the two attended multiple events at the Paris 2024 Olympics together.
