Meta’s ‘Music Valley’ Premieres Jack Harlow Immersive VR Concert and Documentary Special
Meta’s ‘Music Valley’ premieres ‘Jack Harlow: No Place Like Home’ immersive VR concert and documentary special.
Rapper Jack Harlow’s behind-the-scenes look at his No Place Like Home tour in his home state of Kentucky, “Jack Harlow: No Place Like Home,” an immersive VR concert, premiered on Thursday, January 4 in Meta Horizon Worlds’ Music Valley. The event is free for Meta Quest VR headset owners in select regions and is available to play through January 25.
Produced by Range Media Productions, Media.Monks, and Jack Harlow, in partnership with Meta, the event lets fans connect with Harlow and his music in a new way with an intimate look backstage.
Harlow’s No Place Like Home tour ran from November 24 to December 3, with six shows across his native Kentucky in Owensboro, Pikeville, Covington, Murray, and Bowling Green, leading up to the grand finale at Lexington’s Rupp Arena. The tour made up Harlow’s only run of headlining shows in 2023, following the release of his third studio album, Jackman, in April.
Jackman may not have yielded the hits of his previous record, 2022’s Come Home the Kids Miss You, but Harlow has nevertheless enjoyed success with the single “Lovin’ On Me” which he also dropped last year. That track, as well as Harlow’s hits “First Class,” “Creme,” “Thru the Night,” “Route 66,” “Sundown,” and many others featured on the set list for his No Place Like Home tour.
As Meta, the company formerly known as Facebook, continues its focus on VR experiences and the metaverse, more Music Valley concerts are in the pipeline, which have included Blackpink, Jorja Smith, and Victoria Monét. Last year, iHeartRadio Live hosted The Kid LAROI in Music Valley, with Red Rocks Live delivering a VR experience with Louis The Child and other artists.
Meta Quest hosts each of these VR concerts for one month following their air date. In addition to VR concerts, Music Valley also hosts mini-games, DJ sets, and other experiences for Meta Quest VR headset owners.
