moe. Celebrate ‘Circle of Giants’ LP Release at Bearsville Theater (A Photo Gallery + Recap)

This past weekend, moe. celebrated the release of its latest LP, Circle of Giants, at the newly reopened and historic Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, N.Y.

During the two-night occasion, Friday, Jan. 17, and Saturday, Jan. 18, the Buffalo, N.Y.-formed ensemble honored their 14th studio album, which arrives on streaming platforms, Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, by treating the Catskills audience to select numbers off their forthcoming release, and other material from their expansive history. 

Before dipping into new music, the group revisited a popular play, performing “Bearsong” before warping the aptly titled “New Hope for the New Year” into a nonstop sequence of songs that unfolded into “Wormwood” > “Deep This Time.” The Nate Wilson-penned, turned Circle of Giants opening number, “Yellow Tiger,” and LP follow-up, “Bat Country.” 

Later, during Friday’s second set, moe. returned to Circle of Giants cuts on “Giants.” While the band added material other than that featured on their 14th studio LP, they used the concert framework to follow the official track list order. Subsequently, it brought “Band in the Sky” into view.

Following night one’s motif, the group picked up where they had left off and continued working through Circle of Giants with “In Stride” and “Tomorrow Is Another Day” during Saturday’s stand. Set two produced a live version of “Don’tcha Know,” “Ups and Downs,” and “Living Again” before the band pivoted into seasoned favorites like “Head” and their choice encore, “Letter Home.”
