Music Superfan Platform Renaissance Raises $1.7 Million
Renaissance, a platform designed for music superfans to connect with their favorite artists, raises $1.7 million across two funding rounds.
A Canada-based platform designed for music superfans, Renaissance, has raised $1.7 million ($2.3 million CAD) across two funding rounds — a pre-seed led by Panache Ventures, and an extension led by Blockchain Founder’s Fund. The funding will enable Renaissance to increase its active user base threefold while onboarding over a thousand artists onto the platform to unlock an additional revenue stream.
Renaissance has experienced dramatic growth since 2021 across its mobile and web applications, having crossed a million installs globally. The platform tracks over 150 million streams per month in real-time for its users, with its Streaming Party feature seeing over 200 million participants.
“The Renaissance team has put their deep domain expertise in music distribution to help artists reach the top 1% of their fans — otherwise known as superfans. They’re building a product that all artists will use one day to build stronger connections with their audiences,” said Patrick Lor, Managing Partner at Panache Ventures.
Goldman Sachs’ Music in the Air report predicts that direct monetization of music superfans will bring in over $4 billion in incremental revenue for artists globally by 2030. Renaissance co-founder and CEO Arpan Deol says, “Our data shows superfans are spending 8.5x the average music listener, which creates a massive opportunity for artists.”
Renaissance allows fans to track their streams in real-time, enter exclusive artist gieaways, and join streaming parties and communities centered around their favorite artists. The artist platform enables a seamless experience between the mobile and web apps for artists to connect with their most engaged fans.
“With an exciting lineup of new features in the pipeline, we’re building the ultimate platform for artists and superfans to connect like never before,” adds Devon Ulrich, co-founder and COO.
“They are obsessively focused on providing superfans of artists the best experience possible. Superfans spend more time and money on their favorite artists than anyone, yet are under-served. Renaissance has created a truly interactive experience fans love and want to keep coming back to. And it shows in their incredible growth in a short time,” said Tobi Bauer, Partner at Blockchain Founders Fund.
“Ultimately, this round enables us to move faster toward our goal of being the industry standard when it comes to artist-fan relationships globally,” concludes Deol.
