My Morning Jacket closed out a three-night run at New York’s Beacon Theatre on Saturday. As previously reported, Madi Diaz opened each night of the run and, on Thursday night, My Morning Jacket performed their 2003 LP It Still Moves in its entirety.

As expected, the group went through nights without repeating any songs, meaning that both Friday and Saturday’s shows featured material from each of the Jacket’s other eight albums. Friday’s show also opened unexpectedly with the full album version of the beloved Chocolate and Ice EP cut “Cobra,” which usually arrives deeper in the show. During MMJ’s encore, Diaz also emerged to sing on a cover of Cat Stevens’ “The Wind,” which the band debuted at Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks earlier this summer.

On Saturday, Diaz returned to the stage during My Morning Jacket’s set once again, joining in on the tender Tennessee Fire track “I Will Be There When You Die.” The song felt particularly appropriate since its opening lines reference being “born in New York City.”

My Morning Jacket’s fall tour continues in Boston tomorrow.
