Nolafunk Adds Earth, Wind & Power to 11th Annual Series During Jazzfest: The Nth Power, Eric Krasno, Kanika Moore and More

Nolafunk has added two new performances to the exciting program for The 11th Annual Nolafunk Series During Jazzfest. On Friday, May 4, the tribute supergroup Earth, Wind & Power, featuring The Nth Power, Eric Krasno, Kanika Moore and more, will return to the series after back-to-back sold-out presentations in 2022 and 2023 to perform the music of legendary R&B fusion outfit Earth, Wind & Fire in the year of the band’s 55th anniversary. Nolafunk has also announced a performance by the hybrid cover group Steely Dead, slated as the unofficial after-party to Joe Russo’s Almost Dead’s final New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival set on May 4.

With this third staging, Earth, Wind & Power has become a yearly tradition at Republic NOLA. Since 2022, the group has been led by The Nth Power and Grammy-winning guitarist Eric Krasno, alongside a fluid lineup including funk figureheads like Oteil Burbridge, Mononeon, and Doom Flamino’s Kanika Moore, who returns this year after contributing to the group’s New Orleans debut performance. This year’s roster also includes Skerik, Shira Elias, The Dumpstaphunk Horns and further names yet to be announced. An exclusive 48-hour presale is open now; general on sale will begin this Friday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. CT.

Earth, Wind & Power enters a program stacked with thrilling debut collaborations and highly anticipated returns to the series. The festivities will begin on April 26 with the second presentation of Danial Donato’s Cosmic NOLA, followed by the premiere of Delta Blues Explosion with Samantha Fish, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Gales and more on April 26. After allstar tribute groups Voodoo Dead on April 27 and 28 and Dead Feat on March 3, Anders Osborne’s annual NOLA Birthday Bash will bring the series to a close on May 4 with a dazzling lineup of Dickinson, Jackie Greene, George Porter Jr. and Dave Malone of The Radiators.
