Olivia Rodrigo has created original music for the upcoming ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’ movie—joining Taylor Swift and Lorde in creating music for the series.

Olivia Rodrigo’s original song “Can’t Catch Me Now” features during the closing credits of the movie, but the singer was a fan of the original movies. “This is the first time I have written for a feature film,” Rodrigo says about the opportunity. “It was such an honor and a little daunting because I am so used to writing from my own experience. It was a fun challenge to watch the film and try to write something that tells someone else’s story.”

“Writing a song for a film definitely enables me to stretch new songwriting muscles,” Rodrigo continues. “The songs I wrote for SOUR and GUTS tend to be more diaristic and confessional. After watching the movie I felt really inspired by the character of Lucy Gray, and it was a fun challenge to channel her into the song.”

The prequel movie saw a strong box office debut for the return to Panem, bringing in $44 million from 3,776 theaters across North America. It’s global haul was $98 million, falling short of the original series’ box office magic. Still, the movie has fared better than the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe offering ‘The Marvels,’ which saw a 79% drop in ticket sales during its second week.

The prequel film takes place 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered for tribute in the original series. The story focuses on the characters Coriolanus Snow, the president of Panem, and Lucy Gray Baird, the District 12 tribute for the 10th annual Hunger Games.

Meanwhile, Spotify is going all-in on transporting fans back to Panem with audiobooks now available to listeners in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. There’s also an official playlist featuring Olivia Rodrigo’s new song and more music from the movie, as well as a ‘Sounds of Panem’ listening destination that includes several different playlists.
