Otherwish sends in freshman EP ‘i, After All This Time’ via This Never Happened

In the first month of the new year, one of Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2024 has already added a debut EP to their nascent resume. And that’s Otherwish. There’s still some absence of a backstory from one of This Never Happened‘s newest signees, but the anonymous label newcomer has quickly proven that the music will speak for itself. And after a pair of Lane 8’s mixtape IDs were converted into the project’s first two releases, Otherwish has now officially green-lit i, After All This Time on Dancing Astronaut‘s reigning label of the year.

Four more tracks join both “Let It Fade” and “After All This Time” on the EP’s six-side lineup, with Otherwish cashing in on “Meant To Be” as well as “You Against The World,” two previously unreleased cuts from the “Fall 2023 Mixtape” tracklist and “Winter 2023 Mixtape” tracklist, respectively. And each delicately designed melodic number on i, After All This Time guides Otherwish’s unfolding narrative forward in 2024, a story that he explains only began this past summer with a batch of demos and a “concept [for the project] scribbled on a piece of paper.”
