Pixies To Return For Headlining Australian Tour In November 2025

The Pixies have uniquely announced that they are going to tour Australia, while currently touring Australia. The veteran American alternative rock act are in the country supporting Pearl Jam on their stadium run, playing a sold-out headlining show at Sydney’s Liberty Hall tonight before playing at Sydney’s ENGIE Stadium on Thursday and Saturday. The band’s 2025 tour will take place in almost exactly one year’s time, bringing them back to capital cities for two shows apiece. Their first night in each city will see them play sets dedicated to their 1990 album Bossanova and their 1991 album Trompe Le Monde, playing both in their respective entireties. Their second night, then, will see them play a greatest-hits retrospective that covers all ten of their studio albums – including last month’s The Night The Zombies Came.

Pixies – ‘Alec Eiffel’

Bossanova was originally released in August 1990. It featured the singles ‘Velouria’ and ‘Dig For Fire’, and was certified Gold in both the UK and France. Trompe Le Monde (“fool the world”) followed just over a year later in September of 1991, and was the band’s last before splitting up in 1993. It is also the last Pixies album to feature original bassist Kim Deal, who departed the band in 2013.

A pre-sale for the tour runs from 12pm local time on Monday, November 25th. General sale then follows on Tuesday, November 26th at 1pm local time. Both can be accessed via Live Nation.
