On March 21, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John Splithoff will release his sophomore album, Far From Here, via Virgin. The new record continues to build on the soul, pop, jazz and roots sounds that animate his work. Splithoff has developed has an ardent following for his music, which is passionate, playful and personal.
Tomorrow, he will share both “Tangled” and “Magenta (Days Go By)” from his forthcoming album. In advance of that, we are premiering the official video for the second of these tracks. Splithoff tells Relix, “At the heart of it, these two songs depict different aspects of love and relationships. ‘Tangled’ simply deals with the euphoria of infatuation and getting lost in the potential mess of it all. Some memories are red and full of life, some memories are a melancholic blue. Mix red and blue together and you get….”
Splithoff has also announced that he will donating 100% of the proceeds from any music purchased on his Bandcamp page to MusiCares over the next month, to assist artists and musicians affected by the Los Angeles fires.
Following a one-off date in St. Petersburg, FL on February 1, he will take to the road starting in late March to support Far From Here. Those tour dates appear below the video.
