Pusha T has confirmed that Clipse‘s long-awaited return album is complete, sharing “You will get to see how hip-hop and street hip-hop matures”.

The rapper revealed the news of the hip-hop duo’s new work during an interview at the Saint & Citizen’s “Saint Sessions Live” event during this year’s edition of Art Basel in Miami, FL.

During the conversation, Pusha T shared: “There are no duos in rap today and lyric driven hip-hop lives. You will get to see how hip-hop and street hip-hop matures,” (via Complex).

He continued: “It’s been 15 years since we dropped an album….I just think that people are going to witness greatness. This is a chemistry, this is a brotherhood, and when I say that, I mean Pharrell as well. He produced it from top to bottom.”

Pusha T then went onto confirm that the album is done, and shared: “We take long, we always take long. People be mad but its’ okay because it’s done I promise you that it’s done. It’s in my phone.”

Comprised of ‘The Story Of Adidon’ rapper and his brother Gene “No Malice” Thorton Jr, Clipse’s last release was 2009’s ‘Til The Casket Drops’. Pusha and No Malice went on to team up on Kanye West’s 2019 album ‘Jesus is King’, guesting on ‘Use This Gospel’.

Earlier this summer, the rapper opened up about the duo reforming and shared some details about the LP in an interview with Vulture. “I think the album shows the supreme maturation of a rap duo. I think this is where you get the difference between taste and filler. This music is curated. This is a high taste-level piece of work.”

Malice also chimed in and said: “This is smart basketball. It’s fundamentals. And not only that, it’s authenticity. It’s what rap should look like if you’re real about your craft, real about your experience, real about your storytelling. It’s bringing the fans along to see the growth, not trying to fit in or fabricate.”

Back in 2022, the duo reunited on stage this weekend for the first time in over a decade at Pharrell‘s Something In The Water festival and appeared during a headline billing dubbed ‘Pharrell and Phriends’.

In 2020, Pusha T shut down rumours that he was planning to reform Clipse after an unverified Instagram page claiming to be Re-Up Gang Records (in reference to Re-Up Gang, a group that features Clipse and Ab-Liva) shared a photo of Pusha and No Malice as children and writing: “NEW YEAR. NEW CLIPSE ALBUM. 2020 PYREX VISION #reupgang #theclipse #2020.

Pusha T’s latest released was 2022’s ‘It’s Almost Dry’ which he himself called “the best rap album of the year.”

In a five-star review of the album, NME said: “Pusha T has managed to elevate his art to new heights, signalling that the artist is nowhere close to being done. Despite being longer than ‘Daytona’, there is succinct preciseness to ‘It’s Almost Dry’ with Pusha’s lyricism, in particular, never left wanting.”

In other news, the rapper recently began selling his own brand of coffee named after one Clipse’s most iconic singles ‘Grindin’.
