Queen’s Brian May Reveals Positive COVID Test, Issues Vaccination Plea

Queen’s Brian May revealed his positive COVID-19 test in a recent Instagram post and posted a subsequent video in which he discusses the diagnosis and some of his thoughts related to the pandemic.

The guitarist shared that his exposure to the virus occurred at a recent birthday party he had attended. According to May, even though all attendees had been vaccinated – including with booster shots – and tested before the event, eight of them have now tested positive with COVID. May also shared that he is doing well, crediting the vaccine as being a major factor in his body’s ability to effectively fight the virus, and issued a plea for the public to get vaccinated.

“I beg you and implore you to go and get jabbed if you’re not already, ‘cause you need the help.” This plea is made particularly poignant by May recalling the loss of his close friend to COVID. “It killed him. Coulda done me… but it didn’t because of the jabs.”

May also decried the protesting of pandemic precautions such as mask-wearing. “All anyone’s asking is for you to play your part and to try and unite against this invader” he comments in the video. “I’m the first person to support people’s right to protest, but protest against stuff that you should be actually concerned with… get real. This is not about ‘you’, this is about ‘us.’”

In his parting words, May urged fans to “Take care out there. Be brave, but be sensible. And let’s all try and pull together to beat this damn Corona Virus. God bless.”
