Road Work: Post Malone/Coachella, Sabrina, Elvis Costello
* Post Malone let the cat out of the bag today (Nov. 19) that he will be one of the 2025 Coachella headliners by including the event dates and location amid the itinerary for his The BIG ASS Tour, which will hit 25 stadiums in the U.S. and Canada next year. The trek starts in earnest on April 29 in Salt Lake City and will run through July 1 in San Francisco. Jelly Roll will support on most dates, while Sierra Ferrell is also on the bill for the first half of the tour. Click here for further details, including on-sale information.
The artist will be on the road behind his guest-packed country album F-1 Trillion, which received multiple Grammy nominations earlier this month. Meanwhile, an exhibition of Malone images shot over the past seven years by his personal photographer Adam DeGross will be on display at a Morrison Hotel Gallery pop-up at Nashville’s Prima from Nov. 22-24.
* With the North American portion of her Short ‘n Sweet tour having wrapped last night (Nov. 18) in Los Angeles, Sabrina Carpenter utilized the finale at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum to unveil the trailer for her Dec. 6 Netflix special, A Nonsense Christmas. The show will feature appearances from Chappell Roan, Shania Twain, Tyla, Kali Uchis, Quinta Brunson, Cara Delevingne, Kyle Mooney, Nico Hiraga, Megan Stalter, Sean Astin, Owen Thiele and Jillian Bell. A Nonsense Christmas was directed by Sam Wrench, who shouldered the same duties for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour documentary.
* Elvis Costello and longtime Attractions keyboardist Steve Nieve will embark on a duo tour early next year, starting Feb. 19 in Easton, Pa., and running through a March 12 and 14 stand at Chicago’s Park West. The artists performed together internationally throughout 2024, playing nearly 150 different songs from throughout the Costello catalog.
* Horsegirl will support their just-announced new Matador album, Phonetics On and On, with a short spring 2025 tour, beginning March 21 in Philadelphia. The group will also play a Feb. 22 show at Chicago’s Metro eight days after the relese of the project, which was produced by Cate LeBon and recorded at Wilco‘s Loft studio in the city.
* Nine years after their first joint tour, Napalm Death and Melvins will be back at next year on a 50-plus date North American trek. This will also be the first time since 2016 that Melvins have toured with the double drummer lineip of Dale Crover and Coady Willis. The outing gets underway April 4 in San Diego, with rotating support from Napalm Death bassist Shane Embury’s Dark Sky Burial, plus a rotating lineup of Weedeater, Titan to Tachyons and the Hard-Ons with Poison Idea’s Jerry A.
