Robert Plant and Alison Krauss have just announced a return to the road with the Can’t Let Go Tour 2024. This surprise brings the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and 27-time Grammy winner together again after a year-long tour that concluded last July, giving fans a dramatically shorter wait than the 12 years that passed between the duo’s first two tours. This summer, the pair will bring its signature brand of resituated Americana classics and revisited material from their two collaborative albums to 28 stops across North America, with further engagements still to be announced.
Plant and Krauss’s new run will begin in Tulsa, Okla. for the centennial celebration of the legendary Cain’s Ballroom on June 2. Next, the pair will head up to the Midwest for a seven-stop regional run featuring shows at Madison, Wisc.’s Breese Stevens Field and Highland Park, Ill.’s Ravinia Festival. A performance at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pa. will then send the band Southeast to make two previously announced appearances at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Va., closing out the first leg of the tour.
After a month away, the duo will return to the stage on Aug. 8 and 9 for a two-night booking at KettleHouse Theatre in Missoula, Mont. From there, the band will cross the northern border for a presentation at Edmonton Folk Festival in Edmonton, Alberta on Aug. 11–marking the first confirmed act on the festival’s yet-unannounced lineup–followed by two nights at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia on Aug. 13 and 14.
Next, two dates in Seattle on Aug. 16 and 17 will send the group down the West Coast for five appearances in Oregon and California, including Stanford, Calif.’s iconic Frost Amphitheater on Aug. 22. A stop in Flagstaff, Ariz. and a pair of shows at Santa Fe, N.M.’s The Santa Fe Opera on Aug 26, 28 and 29 will finally bring the tour to Colorado, where Plant and Krauss will take the stage at Sunset Amphitheater in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Aug. 31, then conclude the currently announced dates on Sept. 1 at Vail, Colo.’s Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater.
The 2024 Can’t Let Go Tour will feature support from eclectic Oklahoman rhythm and blues trailblazer JD McPherson, who also joined the pair for its previous tour. McPherson will also provide lead guitar for Plant and Krauss’ band, alongside drummer Jay Bellerose, string player Stuart Duncan, bassist Dennis Crouch and keyboardist and guitarist Viktor Krauss, a storied accompanist and brother of Alison. On this latest run, the band will present selections from their widely acclaimed albums Raising Sand and Raise the Roof, bringing their nostalgic, inventive approach to the songs of American legends like Merle Haggard, Allen Toussaint and Ola Belle Reed to audiences from coast to coast.
Presale for Robert Plant and Alison Krauss’ Can’t Let Go Tour will open tomorrow, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. local time. General on-sale begins on Friday, Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. local time. For tickets and more information, visit plantkrauss.com.
