Robert Walter to Present Current Futures During New Orleans’ Jazz & Heritage Festival with Members of Galactic and the Dap-Kings

Robert Walter of The Greyboy Allstars is debuting a collaborative act titled Current Futures during the first weekend of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. The show is set to stage after the day’s festivities at New Orleans’ Café Istanbul at 8:00 p.m. CT. Featuring performances from members from Galactic and the Dap-Kings, the evening will offer continuous grooves for fans eager to keep the music coming. 

As part of the 2024 Café Istanbul Nightfest programming, Walter will bring his signature soul-jazz flavor to the Hammond organ. Joining the prolific keyboardist are Galactic drummer Stanton Moore, The New Mastersounds guitarist Eddie Roberts, the Dap-Kings saxophonist Cochemea Gastelum and Walter’s The Greyboy Allstars bandmate Chris Stillwell on bass. Incorporating a wide variety of sounds and perspectives, the group will coalesce to a soulful hard-funking dream team for an unmissable evening at the iconic 400-seat venue. 

In addition to his celebrated work with The Greyboy Allstars, Walter has played keys with heavyweights across genres like Susan Tedeschi, Fred Wesley and George Porter Jr., among many more. He most recently accompanied Roger Waters on his 11-month This is Not a Drill world tour, which wrapped in December. His scoring work has also garnered acclaim, having contributed to such films as Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Bridesmaids and Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain.
