The announcement comes as the legendary soloist and former Who frontman confirmed earlier this year that he would be hitting the road again for a solo run of shows in 2025.

Now, two new shows have been confirmed for next summer, and each will see him backed by a nine-piece band and playing the hits from across his solo discography and time with The Who.

The first of the new shows will be held in Halifax on Wednesday July 30, and comes as part of the TK Maxx presents Live at the Piece Hall series. The second will be held on Friday August 8, and is as part of the Margate Summer Series at Dreamland.

“Here we go again! After touring the US with this band of phenomenal musicians, I can’t wait to get back on the road in the UK with these shows,” Daltrey said in a new statement. It’s a joy to be on stage performing and sharing familiar songs in an unfamiliar way.”

The shows come as an extension to his already announced tour dates for the UK next year. These include a slot at London’s Palladium, as well as gigs in Brighton, Dundee, Glasgow, Manchester and more.

The Live At The Piece Hall series will run between July and August 2025, and headline shows have also been announced from Paul Heaton, Travis, Echo & The Bunnymen and Faithless.

Weezer are confirmed for the series too, and the set is set to be their only UK headlining show slated for next year. Also lined up are James, The Libertines, Simple Minds, Khruangbin, Texas, Olly Murs, Rag’n’Bone Man, UB40 ft Ali Campbell, Dean Lewis and The Script.

As for Roger Daltrey, the shows come following him performing at 2024 Teenage Cancer Trust gig series, dubbed ‘Ovation’, alongside Paul Weller, Kelly Jones, Robert Plant with Saving Grace and Eddie Vedder.

This year’s instalment arrived following Daltrey confirming that he would be stepping down as the curator for the Teenager Cancer Trust concert series this year after more than two decades. Since its initiation in 2000, the series has raised over £32million to support those struggling with cancer.

Elsewhere, The Who will “definitely” return in 2025, bandmate Pete Townshend recently confirmed. Though he never explicitly shared what the band’s plans entail, his comments suggested that the band could be hitting the road sometime next year.

The guitarist went on to explain: “The album side of it… Roger’s not keen. But I would love to do another album and I may try to bully him on that. The last big tours that we’ve done have been with a full orchestra, which was glorious, but we’re now eager to make a noise and make a mess and make mistakes.”

Previously, when speaking to NME in June, he said that he was “pretty sure” there would be more Who shows, and that “the story of the end of The Who is gonna be when either Roger or I drop dead or can’t function anymore on the stage”.
