Sander Wilder – ADE Roundup – Interview
Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is known for being a unique fusion of music, technology, and culture, drawing in thousands of artists, producers, and industry insiders. For Sander Wilder, ADE 2024 was a chance to delve deeper into the Electronic music scene, network with some of the industry’s brightest talents, and explore the myriad of workshops, conferences, and performances that make the event unforgettable. We sat down with Sander to unpack his experience, his highlights, and what ADE means for the future of Electronic music.
Hi Sander Wilder, how are you?
Hi, I’m doing quite good, thank you!
To start, can you tell us about your experience at ADE this year?
It was a productive experience, blending networking, workshops, and conferences with incredible parties.
What was the highlight of ADE for you?
The third day stood out the most for me. I had some great networking opportunities and met amazing new people.
With several events across multiple venues, ADE can be overwhelming. How did you decide which events to attend?
I started with a plan, but it changed frequently. I found myself switching between locations based on interest or recommendations from people I met, which was quite fun.
In your opinion, how do you think the event is helping to shape the future of Electronic Music?
In every possible way! It covers all aspects of the music industry—business, artistry, and technical skills—so nothing is left out.
Did you have time to explore the city? Can you share what you most enjoyed about Amsterdam?
My exploration mostly involved moving between venues, but I love ‘getting lost’ in the streets of Amsterdam.
What was your main goal in attending ADE, and do you feel you achieved it?
My main goal was to explore new opportunities, connect with people, and enjoy the parties. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.
Was there a particular artist or DJ you were excited to see perform?
I really enjoyed Tale Of Us / Afterlife event at Ziggo Dome.
Did you learn anything new from the panels or workshops?
Yes, I attended some fascinating talks and got to try out some cool music production and DJ equipment.
Finally, how do you unwind after a busy week at ADE?
I got right back into my usual activities right away quite easily.
As Sander reflects on his time at ADE, he shares how for him, the event was more than just a gathering; it was a platform for innovation and community within the Electronic music world. His experiences, from spontaneous venue hopping to interesting workshops, illustrate the event’s impact on both the personal and professional fronts.
