Shame To Replace Wunderhorse On Fontaines D.C.’s 2025 Australian Tour

Shame have announced their return to Australia, replacing fellow Englishmen Wunderhorse as main support for Fontaines D.C.‘s upcoming Romance Australian tour in March. In addition to playing all of Fontaines’ dates, the South London post-punk outfit will also join this year’s Yours & Owls line-up in Wollongong and play their own shows at Sydney’s Metro Theatre and Melbourne’s Croxton Bandroom. Their full tour itinerary can be found below.

In addition to returning to Australia, the band will also make their way across to New Zealand. There, they will support Fontaines D.C. at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Wednesday, March 12th and perform their own headlining show at Meow in Wellington the following day. Tickets for the latter are on sale from 11am local time on Thursday, January 23rd via Ticketek New Zealand.

Shame – ‘Six-Pack’

Shame cheekily shared a brief statement regarding their return to Australia, which reads in its entirety as follows: “Surf’s up, bitch. It’s been far too long – come and get amongst it, cunts.” Wunderhorse, for their part, have taken to social media to note that “unforeseen personal circumstances” lead to the cancellation of their debut Australian tour.

“We want to thank Fontaines D.C. for taking us on this journey so far,” they wrote. “We are grateful and humbled to have been offered such a great opportunity.” They noted that new dates for their headlining shows in Sydney and Wellington would be announced soon, but in the meantime refunds would be available from point of purchase for those unable to make it.

Shame were last in Australia circa February 2018, touring in support of their debut album Songs of Praise. They performed at that year’s Laneway Festival, as well as playing their own headlining shows. Since they were last here, the band have released a further two albums: 2021’s Drunk Tank Pink and 2023’s Food For Worms.
