Skeleton Krewe Trio Detail East Coast Debut, New Tour Dates
December 4, 2024
Skeleton Krewe Trio is headed East. The amalgamated musical stylings of slack key guitar, psychedelic-infused pedal steel and keys will converge for a series of concerts centered around Rob Barraco (Dark Star Orchestra, Phil Lesh & Friends, The Dead), Barry Sless (Bob Weir and Wolf Bros, David Nelson Band, Phil Lesh and Friends), and Grammy-nominated Hawaii-based Stephen Inglis for Grateful Dead covers, originals, improvisations that touch on traditional Hawaiian to psychedelic Americana traditions.
The 10-stop tour is slated to begin on February 20 at The Hamilton in Washington, D.C., before continuing the next night, February 21, at 118 North in Wayne, Pa. From the outskirts of Philadelphia, the group will take their live show to New York’s Brooklyn Bowl on February 22. The group’s stop in the Big Apple also serves as the first of two nights billed for quintet format with the arrival of Skip Vangelas (Dark Star Orchestra) and drummer Tom Baracco.
With their added guests in tow, the quintet will perform at the Newton Theatre in Newton, N.J., on February 23. Ultimately, the band will return to a trio for ensuing gigs in Maryland and into the Northeast. The group will travel up the East Coast, ending their tour on March 2 at Iron Horse in Northampton, Mass.
“This collaboration represents a unique moment in time where three distinct musical paths converge,” notes Barraco via the band’s official Facebook page. “We’re creating something entirely new while honoring the traditions we each bring to the table.” The tour will feature both seated and standing venues, with capacities ranging from intimate clubs to historic theaters, allowing audiences to experience this extraordinary musical alchemy up close.”
