It’s as if Snoop Dogg “Neva Left” the Olympics coverage team, for after commentating Tokyo 2020 with Kevin Hart, the rapper and entrepreneur has signed on as a special correspondent for Paris 2024.

NBC Sports just recently unveiled the Olympics return of Snoop Dogg, who’s already started promoting the happening and is set to be on site in Paris when the Summer 2024 Games begin in late July.

Throughout the upcoming Olympics installment, the 52-year-old will deliver “regular reports,” according to the relevant release, providing viewers on NBC and Peacock “with his unique take on what’s happening in Paris.” On the latter front, the artist has teed up visits to “the city’s iconic landmarks,” stops at “Olympic competitions and events,” and sit downs “with the athletes, their friends, and families,” per the text.

Explaining the decision to bring back Snoop, NBC Olympics Production president and executive producer Molly Solomon touched upon the viewership results associated with the 16-time Grammy nominee’s prior coverage.

“Snoop is already an Olympic gold medal commentator, generating tens of millions of views for his highlights commentary on Peacock of the dressage competition during the Tokyo Olympics,” spelled out Solomon.

“That performance alone has earned Snoop a job as our Special Correspondent in Paris. We don’t know what the heck is going to happen every day, but we know he will add his unique perspective to our re-imagined Olympic primetime show,” concluded the sports-broadcast veteran.

In remarks of his own, Snoop Dogg indicated that he’d grown up watching the Olympics and touted the sports event as “a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness.”

“We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix,” continued the Call of Duty character, Petco partner, and former FaZe Clan board member. “It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked. Let’s elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition, and may the best shine like gold. Peace and Olympic LOVE, ya dig?”

Worth highlighting in conclusion is that Snoop Dogg didn’t cease being involved with sports between his first round of Olympics coverage and the 2024 Games. Back in March of 2022, as part of a broader tie-up between Universal Music and Malaysian soccer club Johor Darul Ta’zim F.C., the artist and Johor Bahru-born rapper Joe Flizzow dropped a promo track, entitled “Pioneers,” for the team.
