Song Premiere: Everett Bradley “The Father Christmas of Funk” Celebrates Holidelic Run with “Tinsel”

Everett Bradley’s holiday funk revue, Holidelic will open this Friday, December 10 at New York City’s Lucille Lortel Theatre. The show, which will run through December 31, finds Bradley taking on the role of Papadelic, the Father Christmas of Funk, drawing on both George Clinton and Santa Claus for this persona. The percussionist has toured with Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Hall & Oates and others over a wide-ranging career in which he also co-created the Broadway play Swing and appeared in Stomp.

Holidelic is part of the Lucille Lortel Theatre’s holiday performance series Tinsel: A Global Holiday Celebration. In anticipation of Holidelic’s opening night, Bradley has recorded “Tinsel” a new funk-infused holiday song that is named for the series. He tells Relix, “‘Tinsel’ was inspired by a need for a global ‘shout out’ during the holidays. With all of the varying cultures, practices and celebrations, our one common denominator is the sparkle we each uniquely have to feel and spread joy.”
