Soulive Announce New Single “Cabriolet” from Upcoming Project ‘Cinematics, Vol. 2’

Yesterday, Jan. 26, Soulive took to social media to announce “Cabriolet,” the first single from the trio’s forthcoming project Cinematics, Vol. 2. This news comes as a shock to fans of the influential and adaptive soul-jazz combo, as it marks the group’s first release since 2018’s Cinematics, Vol. 1, which followed eight years after its last full-length album Rubber Soulive in 2010.

As of now, all that is known about Soulive’s next act is what fans can divine from the trio’s enigmatic Instagram post, which reveals that “Studio magic in August 2023 led to the birth of Cinematics Vol. 2!” To accompany this dispatch, Soulive shared a teaser video of the trio deep in the pocket working on its new material, set to the tune of a bright and funky 50-second snippet of the new track, set to arrive on February 1.
