Spotify Wrapped 2023 is here—and Taylor Swift has dethroned Bad Bunny after three years. With more than 574 million people listening to music on Spotify—here’s a peek at some of the top stats.

One of the defining characteristics of music listening in 2023 is the return of major female artists, including Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Spotify says its top lists this year reflect this trend as Taylor Swift topped the most-streamed artist list, while Miley Cyrus took the most-streamed songs globally list with “Flowers.”

Some interesting trends to spot from the overall Spotify Wrapped 2023 data include a fresh look at who is consuming Latin music and classical music.

Spotify says Colombia saw an 85% increase in consumption of Mexican music during 2023, becoming the fifth-largest market. Meanwhile, consumption of Indian classical instrumental music grew on Spotify 500% in the last 24 months. Spotify says over 45% of those listening to Indian classical music on the service are under the age of 25.

Afrobeats is also a genre experiencing vigorous growth on the platform, with 550% growth since 2017. Emerging audiences for the genre are in Mexico and India, with Rema’s “Calm Down” becoming the first Afrobeats artist-led track to hit one billion streams on Spotify.

Meanwhile, Mandopop artists like Jay Chou, JJ Lin, and Eason Chan have accumulated more than 500 million streams globally for a 45% increase in the past year alone.
