On Jan. 4, 2022, Steve Earle will host a special, all-star concert at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, honoring his son, songwriter Justin Townes Earle, who passed in August 2020.

The show will take place on what would have been Justin’s 40th birthday, and the entire setlist will feature music from his catalog. (In 2007, Justin released his first EP, Yuma. A year later, he released his full-length debut The Good Life. In 2009, he won Emerging Act of the Year at the Americana Honors & Awards. Two years later, his song “Harlem River Blues” took the event’s Song of the Year award.)

Performers at “A Celebration of Justin Townes Earle” will include Jason Isbell, Lucinda Williams, Old Crow Medicine Show, Amanda Shires, Ben Nichols (Lucero), Buddy Miller, Dustin Welch, Elizabeth Cook, Emmylou Harris, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Joe Pug, Jon Langford, Lilly Hiatt, Mike Ness and Jonny Two Bags of Social Distortion, Scotty Melton, Stacey Earle And Mark Stuart, Steve Earle & The Dukes, and Willy and Cody Braun.

According to organizers, “The show will benefit Justin’s 4 year old daughter, Etta St. James Earle’s trust.”
