Superheaven have been playing reunion shows on and off for the past couple of years, including appearances at 2022’s Sound and Fury and 2024’s Sick New World. Today the alt-rock unit are sharing their first new song in nine years with “Long Gone” via Blue Grape Music (the label that houses GEL, Spiritual Cramp, and Code Orange).

“Long Gone” is a hulking preview of a forthcoming double single, “Long Gone / Numb To What Is Real,” made in a remote cabin in the Poconos after the band’s Jar anniversary tour in 2023. Then it was engineered by guitarist/vocalist Jake Clarke and drummer Zack Robbins at The Metal Shop and mixed by Rich Costey. “Hearing the demo back for the first time was really inspiring,” Robbins says. “To hear us making something new, but to have it still really feel like our sound.”

“We did the Jar 10-year show, and that was really exciting to see that there was still interest in the band,” Clarke adds. “Then that fall we played a few more shows, and they were even crazier. It made us realize that people really love this band and these songs we’d made.”

“Long Gone / Numb To What Is Real” arrives on streaming Dec. 10 and will only be available on wax through Superheaven’s website and upcoming U.S. tour with the Story So Far and Koyo.
